Harp, Rhythm Guitar, Vocals

John Culbertson has always had an itch to play live music. As a long time member of the band “Yesterday’s News” , he played extensively with some fine musicians including Catherine Brickley formerly of the “Sensible Pumps”, Jessie “Big Head” Murphy, and the Alford Brothers. As a harmonica player, he has performed with Blues guitar legend Cootie Stark, and recorded blues harp for the soundtrack of the feature film, “The Journey”. As a songwriter he has penned the music for several commercials including Carolina Pride, and Maurice’s Barbecue, which won a national Telly Award. (He apparently does his best work when writing about meat) John lists his musical influences as “anybody who has ever stepped into a recording studio, with the possible exception of David Hasselhoff.”
